Minor Ailments

Available in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and New Brunswick, the Minor Ailments module is a subscription based integrated solution for documenting and billing Minor Ailment services. If the Minor Ailments feature is not active, upon selecting the Minor Ailments tile in Patient Centre, a prompt appears with additional information on how to subscribe for the feature.

After activation, the server must be restarted for the feature to become available.

Features of the Minor Ailments Module

  • Flexibility to initiate a service from a workstation that has Propel Rx or an iPad.

  • Standardized forms to document each Minor Ailment service in RxConsultAction.

  • Generalized forms to document other prescribing services in RxConsultAction (Alberta pharmacies only).

  • Ability to view patient clinical and profile information from within the form.

  • Access to a list of medications that can be prescribed for each Minor Ailment as well as visibility into which ones are covered under the provincial plan.

  • Automatic write-back from the form to the Patient Folder in Propel Rx.

  • Automatic creation of the prescriptions for billing upon completion of the form as well as automatic processing of these prescriptions in the provinces where allowed.

To use the Minor Ailments feature, your pharmacy's information must be entered in Pharmacy Preferences (Name, Address Line 1, City, Province, Phone, Postal Code). If this information is missing, the following error will appear in RxConsultAction.

If you don't want this information printing on your labels (i.e., you use pre-printed labels), turn the Label Header preference OFF. If this information is missing, the following error will appear in RxConsultAction.
